In honor of The Dark Knight coming out last week, we've decided to judge who is hotter between the two heroines playing Rachel Dawes. These two women are EXTREMELY similar according to our research. Both are 5'9", which is a great height. It's hard to make a real judgment based on body here; we find both to be pretty lithe and sexy. Katie likes to run to clear her mind and she also competed in the New York Marathon, while Maggie was able to quit smoking (picture above for sexiness only). So both are very healthy. Katie was a child star on Dawson's Creek, but Maggie was also an actress in her teen years. One thing to Maggie's downfall is her face; it can be a little strange sometimes when you look at it. However, she is definitely a better actress and all around has been in better movies (Donnie Darko, Stranger than Fiction) than Katie has (Thank You For Smoking and such). Granted Katie had a very minor role in Phone Booth and was also in Muppets From Space, but this doesn't negate all the negative and overbearing press she's received as a result of being Tom Cruise's wife. Not that there's anything wrong with Tom Cruise, but compare that to Maggie's husband Peter Sarsgaard (Mark from Garden State, also Troy from Jarhead and the bad guy in Flightplan). In Katie's marriage, it's certainly the highest-class of all class affairs: million-dollar jewelry, pre-nups larger than War and Peace, etc. But Maggie has character to marry an actor that isn't a superstar but has still been in some great movies in decent roles. Finally, when watching the pair of them on screen (especially in Batman Begins and Dark Knight), one feels that Maggie, being a better actress, is also able to make a better connection to the viewer and tug more at the heartstrings. So with that, we declare Maggie Gyllenhaal to be hotter than Katie Holmes.
